I first heard about ultra marathons in the early nineties in a magazine article about Western States. Since then I've always wanted to run it. Now with the popularity of these big events getting in to the races is becoming more and more difficult. I no longer qualify with my previous Superior 100 or Lakeland 100 so I need to be planning ahead so I'm at least able to get into the lottery much like UTMB.
